The fruity botanical garden of avapesa
This garden comprises on nearly 3 hectares a collection of more than forty kinds of edible fruits, and many rare varieties from all parts of the world, with the exception of strictly tropical plants.
This collection, made up after many years of passionate research, sometimes unsuccessful trials, is probably unique in France because of its diversity. The climate of the Balagne (northwestern coast of Corsica, near Calvi and L'Île-Rousse) and that of Avapesa in particular, are suitable for fruit trees in temperate zones as well as for many subtropical fruit trees that are able to withstand light frosts.
